My Diary: The Emptiness In An Urban Sunrise

June had a day off and we spent the first part of it hanging from the raised eyebrow of a five storey head recently erected in the front garden of our house.‭ ‬It was too high to see in our bedroom window but still tried to out stare a seagull who was coming into land on our tropical island roof‭ (‬incidentally it is believed that the footprints were made by a castaway‭ ‬-‭ ‬apparently he is waiting for a ship to sail by so that he can be rescued‭)‬.‭ ‬June escaped about midmorning with the help of the strange figure that lives in the telephone handset‭ (‬it has an elephant head and the fur of an Eurasian badger and is supposed to be able to speak to the child still residing inside the adult‭)‬.‭ ‬She returned in the middle of the afternoon with a patented ostrich hair-do and part of the Indian subcontinent hidden in her pen.
